Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with former mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first championship following the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from spring of the previous year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 different tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching play style and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.

But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an better service.

The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.

Moutet rescued four early-game break points in a close third set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, he secured victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a return after a lengthy match.
